Ada Mae received her BA in Music from the University of Iowa, Music Therapy Equivalency from University of Kansas, MA in Psychology of Music from University of Washington, Violin Studies at The Juilliard School of Music. She has over thirty years clinical experience working children, adolescents and adults in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She is known for her work in both music medicine and music psychotherapy, and has published and presented on a wide range of topics, including: Music to Reduce Anxiety During Cesarean Birth, A Comparison of Guided Imagery and Music and Shamanism, The Drum and the Rattle in Psychotherapy, and Music Mind and Healing: A Treatment Approach in Women’s Health Care. Currently working at La Europa Academy, a residential treatment center for young women and at The Therapy Studio, a group of expressive art, alternative and traditional therapists committed to helping people resolve life’s problems and achieve their potential.

Alex completed his B.S. in Music Therapy with a double minor in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies at Utah State University. They completed their internship in various community music therapy settings at Snohomish County Music Therapy in Washington including elementary programs focused on emotional regulation, veterans with PTSD, dementia patients, and LGBT+ youth. Alex spent 2019–2021 in Seattle working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and barriers to traditional services. Alex started their business to focus on trans affirming voicework music therapy in May of 2021.

Beth is a nationally board-certified music therapist and Utah state-certified music therapist who has been practicing since 2008. Beth is also a trained birth doula and postpartum doula, and she specializes in Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth. Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth is the use of very specific, carefully designed music programs during labor and birth. This use of music, in addition to the support of the doula/music therapist, helps to promote a birth experience that is calm, safe and supportive for parents and baby.
Beth currently works with clients in long term care, hospice, adult day health care, cancer treatment, residential treatment facilities for teens, and labor/delivery. In 2016 Beth helped to start the first-ever music therapy program at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, and currently works there part-time.
Beth received her bachelor’s degree in music therapy from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in 2007 and completed her internship at the Veterans’ Home of California in Yountville, CA. Before moving to Salt Lake City in 2015, Beth was living in the San Francisco Bay Area and working at the Palo Alto VA Hospital. While there, Beth had the opportunity to provide music therapy to veterans of all ages and abilities, including those in inpatient psychiatry, blind rehabilitation, PTSD treatment, long term care, and hospice.
Beth is a member of the American Music Therapy Association, Western Region Music Therapy Association, Utah Association of Music Therapists, and Utah Doula Association.

Emily is the owner of Crescendo Music Therapy. Emily and her team of music therapists provide contractual music therapy services for hospice agencies, care facilities and private clients across Utah. Additionally, Emily is the founder of the Gleeful Choir, a chorus for people with dementia and their care partners. Emily specializes in older adults. She is a certified Hospice and Palliative Care music therapist, and has completed trainings in Neurologic Music Therapy, Dementia Dialogues and the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia Online Training Program. Emily is currently a master’s student in the Gerontology Interdisciplinary Program at the University of Utah. Emily has served professionally as president of the Utah Association of Music Therapists, on the membership committee of the Utah Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, is a member of the Utah Music and Memory Coalition, as well as the Music Listening Workgroup for the American Music Therapy Association. Emily has a passion for speaking, educating and advocating for music therapy, especially as it relates to older adult populations.

Emily works full time as a music therapist for the University of Utah Healthcare serving adults with mental illness at the University Hospital, 5 West Psychiatric Unit and the University Neuropsychiatric Institute (UNI). She serves as the clinical internship director for music therapy at UNI. Emily volunteers her time advocating and supporting the profession as co-Chair to the Utah Music Therapy State Task Force (Government Relations), the Western Region Chapter of the American Music Therapy Association (WRAMTA) Continuing Education Director, and on the Ethics Committee for UNI. Emily occasionally takes private clients including music therapists wanting consultations for clients or business development.

Emily Salisbury received her BS in music therapy from Utah State University. Through her private practice, Segue Expressive Therapies, she contracts with hospice agencies, assisted living facilities, and adult day programs. Emily’s focus with music therapy centers on interpersonal connection, emotional healing and expression, and holding space for clients who are grieving. When she is not behind the guitar, Emily enjoys playing with her kids, listening to podcasts, and working in her garden.

Heather is a board certified music therapist who has been working in the field since 2000. She is experienced in working with adults with mental illness and addiction issues, and currently works for University of Utah Hospital on the medical/psychiatric unit. Heather also works at Huntsman Cancer Institute with adults undergoing cancer treatment and facilitates bereavement groups with Caring Connections through the University of Utah School of Nursing. Heather received her BS in Music Therapy at Utah State University in 2001. She has her own music therapy practice where she serves children with special needs in Cache County School District, subcontracts at assisted living centers, hospice, and an addiction recovery center. She teaches music therapy based music development classes for parents and children ages 0-5 years old in Smithfield and Logan. She owned and operated her own music based preschool Music Train Preschool for 6 years. Heather loves music therapy and believes music can aid many people towards healing and peace. She also has seen children with all abilities learn and grow through music in fun and creative ways. She is currently growing her music therapy practice, OverlyMusical LLC and is looking to add groups and individuals of all populations.

Katie graduated from Wartburg College in 2014 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy and Music Education. She has also completed her Master’s Degree in Music Therapy with an emphasis in counseling at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Katie has worked in private practice, skilled nursing, adult medical rehab, and adult residential mental health. Katie has experience supervising many music therapy practicum students and interns. Katie joined Primary Children’s as a full-time staff member in 2018.  Katie currently serves the Oncology/Transplant Unit at Primary Children’s Hospital.
