Notice Regarding our Spring 2020 Conference:
As we have been preparing for our upcoming spring conference, we have also been very much aware of the surrounding preparations and precautions that have been put in place in our state concerning COVID-19 (coronavirus). Last night, we met as a board and discussed our options as to how we would like to continue to move forward to maintain safety precautions, etc. We planned to meet again at the end of the week to make a final decision regarding our plans with the spring conference, however today, Wednesday, March 11, 2020 Utah State University updated their policy regarding COVID-19, resulting in the cancellation of all campus events through the rest of March and into April. Many other facilities in the Salt Lake City area have similar COVID-19 policies that will not permit us to reschedule the location of our conference in the near future. We are reaching out to our members and fellow music therapists in the state to inform you of that we unfortunately have to cancel our UAMT Spring 2020 Conference. It is our hope to continue with what has been planned, including providing ethics credits, in the fall at our next conference. To those of you who have already registered or were planning on doing so, we appreciate your support and enthusiasm surrounding this event. We will be issuing refunds for conference registration fees as requested. Please complete the Google Form to let us know if you would like a refund of your conference fee or if you would like to credit it towards your fall conference registration.
We are disappointed that we will not be able to host this event and gather together as a community of music therapists, but are edging on the side of caution and have taken action as needed.
